CALAMUS OIL



BOTANICAL NAME: Acorus calamus.

PLANT PART: Root.

EXTRACTION METHOD: Steam Distilled.

COLOR: Yellow to yellowish brown slightly viscous liquid.

CONSISTENCY: Thin.

AROMATIC SCENT: Calamus Root has a refreshing
scent similar to cinnamon.
CHEMICAL COMPOSITIONS:
The main chemical components are acorenone, b-gurjunene, isoshyobunine, b-asarone, calamendiol, a-selinene, a-calacorene, calamusenone, camphone and shyobunone.



HEALTH BENEFITS:

ANTIRHEUMATIC & ANTI ARTHRITIC:
This oil is particularly stimulating for the nerves and the blood circulation. It stimulates and increases the rate of blood circulation in the affected area and gives relief from the pain and swelling associated with rheumatism, arthritis and gout.


ANTISPASMODIC:
The Essential Oil of Calamus is known for its anti spasmodic properties. It relaxes all sorts of spasm, but is particularly effective on nervous spasm. Thus, in cases of nervous afflictions and disturbances, this can be administered, but in very mild doses.
ANTIBIOTIC:

TAGETES OIL


Botanical Name: Tagetes minuta. 

Method of Extraction: Steam distilled. 


Plant Part: Aerial parts.
Color: Pale yellow to reddish.
Yield: 1.2 - 1.4%


The Essential Oil of Tagetes is extracted from its leaves, stem, stalk and flowers by steam distillation.

Tagetes oil is used as a fragrance component in perfumes.
Tagetes oil is used as a flavor component in most major food products, including alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, frozen dairy desserts, candy, baked goods, gelatins and puddings, and condiments and relishes.

The main components are -phelandrene, limonene, b-ocimene, dihydrotagetone, tagetone and tagetenone

Health benefits:

Antibiotic:
Tagetes Essential Oil is such an anti biotic. It does not allow any biotic growth (growth of bacteria, fungi, protozoa or other parasites such as worms) in the body. It has been found very beneficial on open sores, ulcers, rotten wounds and even gangrene. In some places, it is used to clear wounds and eliminate growth of maggots in them.


Antimicrobial:
